04. Northern Lights & Midnight Sun

Away from the city lights, Vaðlaheiði has excellent conditions for the Northern Lights in winter, and the Midnight Sun and long, bright evenings in summer.
05. The area
Akureyri & Eyjafjörður
Cafés, restaurants and shops are minutes away. Hike Mt. Súlur, ride Icelandic horses under the Midnight Sun, kayak, swim, dive or golf; in winter, ski, go dog sledding, snowshoeing or ice fishing. Day trips: Goðafoss and Dettifoss, Dimmuborgir and Mývatn, whale watching from Húsavík or Hauganes, and Grímsey on the Arctic Circle.
About a 7–10 minute drive to downtown Akureyri, and about 7 minutes to Akureyri Airport (AEY). A car is recommended; there is no public transport nearby.

Yes. The sauna is free for all guests, no booking needed. If you would like it all to yourselves, you can book an optional private hour for 10.000 kr.

A baby bed is available on request. Apartments 15A and 15B sleep 4, or up to 6 on request with 2 extra single beds. The Cottage sleeps 2, plus 1–2 more on a sofa bed. Apartment 15C sleeps 2, with no extra beds. Rates are for 1 guest; each additional guest is €20 per night.

When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 17:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Self check-in: your door code and directions are sent before you arrive.
